Dear West Cummington,
An old favorite story. Does it still ring true?
And an old favorite song, probably new to you.
Peace, Steve

Dear West Cummington,
There was true joy at our service with The Village on Sunday.
Yes. And: There is pain, there is misery and fear among and around us. Here are prayers for those who are hurting.
The prayers are flanked by: 01 Little Johnny Taylor’s classic “If You Love Me Like You Say (Why D’You Treat Me Like You Do?)” The title of that song summarizes the relationship between God and his people in the Hebrew Scriptures. Each side says to the other, “If you love me like you say . . . . “ And it speaks for us and to us today.
And 03) “Every Hand Will Be Held’ where Penny puts music into a West Cummington blessing. Thank you, Penny.
- Until Sunday, love from Steve

Yes! The annual outdoor service up on Potash Hill, where the Village and West Cummmington Churches celebrate our common roots at the site of the original meeting house. The service shaped up to be rich, diverse, loosely-structured and deeply felt.

Musicians included, but were not limited to, Sarah Pirtle, Penny Schultz, Norma Jean Haynes, Josh Wachtel, Peg Cowen and John Bye. There were words of wisdom from at least one minister. Readings by Melody Sanislo and more.

Peace,

Steve, Sarah Pirtle and the congregations of The Village and West Cummington

Dear West Cummington,
I got troubles, you got troubles, God’s got troubles, too.
I know, I know. But I can’t help worrying sometimes. This morning was one of the times.

Marian Anderson (“Nobody Knows The Trouble I’ve Seen”) and BB King ("Worry, Worry, Worry”) — they help me out.
See you Sunday at 10 on Potash Hill. Bring a chair and a sun/rain hat.

Dear West Cummington,
Here’s the Wednesday evening message.
Keep an eye out for a new mask policy at indoor services, coming soon from the deacons.
In the meantime, here’s a sermon that’s better than nada and a song from Doug Sahm and the Texas Tornados. Peace tonight and church on Sunday!
Love, Steve
